In the spring of 2007, while vacationing in California, my alarm stopped working back home in Orlando. I received a call from my alarm company informing me of the problem. I requested a service call and even told them I was out of state but that my neighbor had a key and could let them in my home. To my surprise, the alarm company told me they were booked three weeks out and couldn’t get there any sooner. After a few more minutes begging for their help, the alarm company told me “Alarm systems are a luxury. You should be glad you can afford one.”

Moments later I was researching how to start a business in Florida. I knew I could treat people better. I wanted to start a company that treated people like family and not just a number. The rest is history! Now over 13 years later we continue to get exemplary reviews from our subscribers. And that awful quote about affording an alarm system? I have it framed in my office. It reminds me everyday why we do what we do.
